What is fear?  Why do we fear?
Is it because we have been hurt in our past,  someone physically beat us or emotionally abused us as a child?
Is it because we have been rejected and told we are not good enough?
Are we afraid of speaking in front of a crowd or gong to the doctor?

Whatever the reason it is almost always a fear of an imaginary future event.  Fear and faith cannot exist at the same time.  So once you get a-hold of this 1 powerful fact you can begin to change your whole life.

No matter what the cause it can be brought under control with what the Bible calls 'renewing the spirit of your mind'. (Eph 4)

Love Never Fails

You are only truly alive in the moment. You can only effect change where you are right now.

Right now is the time to start watching what you think and not just automatically thinking that you think is right. The Bible calls this taking thoughts captive.  ( 2 Cor 10Don't just go through your day asleep! Be conscious... awake to what is going around you and in you. This is where you will begin to defeat fear.

Learn what the truth is!

This may seem like a weird and impossible statement but its where you start. The Bible is true and learning what it says about God, the Lord Jesus and you is key to changing your life and defeating fear. For example... God will never make you jump through hoops to earn His love. His love is not like the media or the worlds love, it is perfect. The question is do you believe this?  Do you act on this belief or do you act on your old programming based and fearful emotions?

Learning to walk in the love of God means learning to walk in his grace. This means trusting Him and putting faith in Him to always know He'll provide and guide you.
Its following Him instead of following a bunch of rules.  John 14:15-17 says He will give you the Holy Spirit who will
help you and be with you forever. You no longer need to try to impress God with your behaviour. He really, really loves you and this love will defeat fear.

He won’t love you any more if you succeed and he won’t love you any less if you fail. If you lead millions to Christ or none at all, he will love you just the same. God loved you while you were dead in sin and he didn’t stop loving you when you got saved. His love and mercy and grace endures forever. When you really, really get that you will not fear, you will find the power He loved you with is in you already and you will love others as He does. There are lots of truths like this that will set you free from fear and anxiety. Don't got overwhelmed by this, its just walking in a direction 1 day at a time.

It begins with the first step...

It begins now...

Getting Through the Storms of Life

Are you facing a "storm of life" right now? By that I mean, are you facing some kind of crisis or unexpected tragedy? Are you losing hope?

One day, Jesus said to His disciples, "Let's cross over to the other side of the Sea of Galilee." So these experienced fishermen did what they had done hundreds of times. They boarded their boat and began to row together while Jesus went below deck and took a much-needed nap.

Suddenly, a severe storm came and began to dump rain on them and caused the sea to pitch. It was so bad that even these seasoned sailors began to panic. They awoke Jesus and said accusingly, "Do You not care that we are perishing?" Jesus patiently absorbed their criticism and then rebuked the storm and it stopped immediately. He also rebuked them with these words, "Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?"
(see Mark 4:35-40).

A better translation of those words says, "Why are you such timid, fearful ones?" Jesus was saying, "Boys, have you not learned anything here?" After all, what did Jesus say to them? He said, "Let's cross over to the other side!" He did not say, "Let's go to the middle of the Sea of Galilee and drown together!" If He had said that, they might have been justified in their collective panic.

Jesus did not promise smooth sailing, but He did promise a safe passage. I would rather be in a storm with Jesus than anywhere else without Him. So, if you are in a storm of life, my advice to you is to remember that Jesus will "get you to the other side." Trust Him. He will not abandon you or let you down. You have His Word on it. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5).

Love Never Fails

Another aspect of overcoming fear is to get your mind off yourself and onto God & others.

As we said before, when you really, really get how He loves you, you will find faith and not fear, you will find the power He loved you with is in you already and you will love others as He does.  1John 4:18-19 says; There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear involves torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love. We love him, because he first loved us.  God shows us Love is the way.  Getting your life in a place where you can help others is a great way to begin to love others and defeat fear.  You have heard it said that it is better to give than to receive.  When you volunteer or serve at church or wherever,  you will feel the power of the Holy Spirit increasing the love in your heart and that love will drive out fear.  Soon you will find yourself trusting God more & more because you know He loves you.

Remember it's 1 day at a time and begins now... do you believe? Are you trusting Him now for everything?... your future?

Love Never Fails...

"Fear Not" is mentioned 365 times throughout the Bible. One for each day of the year God is with you...
